Here at Upper Room Christian School we have a uniform dress code. We feel that this allows students to focus on what really matters in school and that is learning. It takes the guess work out of wondering what to wear to school each day while also eliminating the feeling of having to "keep up with the Jones'". While we have a uniform dress code there are several variations that allow our students some individual expression.
Basically as the student progresses they have more and more options of colors and styles all within the framework of our maroon and grey palette. We also include several "dress down" and "dress up" days throughout the year for fund raisers and special events.
In the spring and summer we relax the dress code a bit allowing the students to wear "Upper Room" polo shirts instead of the white shirt and tie. We usually allow our middle school and high school students to dress up or down for field trips outside of the school depending on the type of venue or event they're going to.
Almost every job requires some form of dress code so we are preparing our students for that as well as promoting our unity and equality by wearing our uniform with pride and dignity. At the end of the year we offer "Best Dressed" awards to those students that consistently demonstrated how to wear the uniform. As you can see from the picture above of one of our former High School classes that we have a great looking group of students and staff here at Upper Room Christian School!
Grace and Peace,
Ed
