High School Baseball

The link above will take you to the Upper Room Christian School Royal's Varsity Baseball Team. Varsity sports are very important here at Upper Room. Varsity sports help to build character  sportsmanship, community and a good work ethic. Varsity sports also give students opportunity for athletic scholarships to excellent colleges and universities.

Our new baseball site includes our schedule, scores, stats, roster, news, photos and much more. Our baseball program has national attention and we send players on to Division 1, Division 2 schools and we even sent one student to the MLB! This new site will enable coaches and players from around the country to keep in touch and follow what our program and players are up to.

Congratulations to Coaches Passalacqua and Jackson on building one of the very best varsity baseball programs on Long Island and for publishing what their doing on this new and informative site. Check it out at:

Blessings!

Hector Mejias' Jersey Number Retired

Last Friday we had a special Chapel Service. As a part of the service we retired Hector Mejias' number 27 in honor of his outstanding baseball career here at Upper Room Christian School. Hector is now a Junior at NCAA Division 1 Grambling University in Louisiana! He is a starting first or third baseman and  is attending Grambling on a full scholarship from Upper Room! Hector came to us as an I-20 International student from the Dominican Republic and graduated Upper Room three years ago.

After the ceremony our Head Varsity Baseball Coach Passalaqua (shown above with Hector) shared an inspiring message with our students about the importance of Character, Integrity and Diligence in everything that we do! He emphasised that not only was Hector a great student as well as a great athlete but he is also a great Man of God. He tries to live his life in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and helpful to those around him. He also volunteered here at Upper Room Christian World Center whenever he got the chance.

We are thankful that God has sent us such wonderful students and staff and we pray that we continue to strive as a school for His best!

Grace and Peace,
Ed
