Upper Room Christian School will be having a "Brunch Open House" on Saturday, July 25th from 11am - 1pm! Come and join us for a bite to eat as we discuss the value of Christian Education and our program here at Upper Room. Upper Room Christian School Open House

Come to our OPEN HOUSE this Saturday, February 14th at 10am to meet some of our administration and teachers and hear about our school from parents and former students like Daniel Hashim who graduated second in his class from URCS in 2005 with a 94.6 cumulative average. He went on to Rennsalear Polytechnic Institute on a full scholarship. After graduating Rensealear he went on to Rice University where he received a PHD in Materials Science & Nano Engineering.

In 2014 at the age of 27 Daniel was listed in Forbes Magazine’s prestigious 30 Under 30: In Science & Healthcare where they wrote, “Hashim, uses nanotechnology to build futuristic devices. In one case, he used graphene to create what might be a better cathode for ultrafast storage in lithium batteries; in another, carbon nanotubes would be used to heal wounds in people. A carbon nanotube sponge capable of sucking about huge amounts of crude oil has led him to found a company: Carbon Sponge Solutions.”

Daniel presently has 6 US patents for his inventions. He is a Google Scholar with over 20 published articles and over 400 citations.

Upper Room Christian School is a New York State Regents School.
We offer an innovative developmental elementary program that focuses on Spiritual, Social and Academic growth providing small class size with low student/teacher ratios.  We have a complete academic program that includes Art, Dance, Music and Technology as well as several Advanced Placement classes for High School students accredited through St. Johns University. We offer competitive sports programs and are the the Boys Varsity Baseball and have been Basketball Champions for the IPSSAL League.  We occasionally compete in both the NYSMA and SCMEA Music Programs.

We have Bible Devotions four days a week and a Chapel service each Friday.

We are a non-denominational multi-racial and multi-cultural educational extension of Upper Room Christian World Center and serve families from over 100 churches in the Queens, Nassau and Suffolk County Areas. We are an approved I-20 school with International Students from China, Korea, Germany, England, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Spain. We also have the largest special education (IEP) program of any private school on Long Island.

Open House

We had our first "Open House" this past Saturday. We had about 25 families come to hear and see what's going on here at Upper Room Christian School. Dr. Eck, our Principal, opened at 10am and began sharing the history of our school and the vision of where we're going. I was up next with some more info and inspiration.

The school band and choir ministered to us in song and there was a tangible presence of God in the room. After they finished we introduced several parents of students who attend our school to share their experience with our prospective new families. Our teachers were on hand to answer personal questions afterward and we had out a sampling from our art department, student publications department and the various curriculum that we use for each grade.

All in all it was a great two hour presentation of our school and as a result we had 10 families enroll new students for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. As schools are closing all around us both in the public and private sector we are grateful that God continues to bless, provide and enable us to go forward with the vision he gave us 30 years ago to "Train up our children in the way they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from it"!
