Thanks to last year's East Coast Conference champs St. Thomas Aquinas College coming by to see the guys at open gym! At Upper Room Christian School we do everything possible to enable our students to go to some of the best Colleges and Universities in the country! From our aggressive athletic department to our partnerships with St. John's University and Suffolk Community College we strive for excellence in Academics, Character and Athletics.
Even our elementary and middle school programs with their developmental approach seek to ready our students for college and beyond. And with God's Word, the Bible, at the center of all that we do we are instilling Christian Compassion and Character and a desire in our students to serve their generation with excellence, wisdom and passion.
As this year gets under way we look back at what God has done in our school and our former graduates and we look forward, using all available technology and resources available, to provide our students with the best academic and spiritual environment possible that expresses the love and nature of God in all we do. Let's Go Royals!!

Art
Art is an important subject here at Upper Room Christian School! Students get art twice a week from 1st Grade through High School. They learn art history as well as technique. Our students have won several local art awards through the years and do all of the design and layout work for our annual yearbook. Featured above was our cover from last year.
Several students have even gone on in College to major in art, design, graphic arts and layouts. Some have even received scholarships to Universities like the Fashion Institute of Technology and the New York Institute of Technology.
Art is another form of communication like music or speech. Throughout the ages man has left behind the art of his day and we have all learned and been enriched by it. In fact, God is the first artist as seen through His marvelous creation and we were created in His image and in His likeness!
Grace and Peace,
Ed

Spring Concert of the Arts
We had our Concert of the Arts yesterday from 11am until 1pm. It really was awesome! Each segment was well rehearsed and strategically placed to build to several standing ovations! Poems, songs, dance, mime and drama were all represented by students from 3-18 years old.Performed once a year during the spring season the show celebrates the gifting and anointing in and on these children. From originals to re-scored covers, each segment built upon the last. With over 250 people in attendance the atmosphere was electric.
Thanks to the over 30 staff members and volunteers who helped make this year's show the best so far!
Grace and Peace,
Ed
