Election Day

Today is election day! Here at Upper Room Christian School our students study our democracy and how it works. They study our history and how our voting rights evolved to where they are today. Not only do they study how democracy works but they practice it with several school votes and debates.

Our students debate and vote on issues that directly effect the school. We are so blessed to live in a country where the people have the power to effect policy by voting each year. Freedom is the founding principal behind our Constitution and voting is an important part of exercising and maintaining our freedom.

Freedom is also a foundational principal in the Gospel. The Bible says that, "it was for freedom that Christ has set us free...". The Bible says that we were once slaves to sin but the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has broken sin's hold on us and it's power over us!

Thank God for freedom!
