Middle School Progress

The middle school did such a wonderful job with the ELA exams, we are truly proud of them! For the month of February the middle school students have decided to act as "mentors" towards the elementary school (bridging the gap)....They are writing weekly letters to the elementary school students focusing on Black History Month...Each middle school student has a new elementary pen pal in the school! This project is an integration of Language Arts & Social Studies It is constructive and cooperative learning. We will also be posting a bulletin board by Ms. Claudio's room of the letters, responses and pics of the pen pals!!!They absolutely LOVE IT! With these letters all students are learning proper letter writing techniques, as well as the history of some of the greatest African American role models to have ever lived. With fun and creativity we are spreading the love and knowledge of writing and teaching within our own school environmnet.

Upper Room Christian School is a New York State Regents School.

We offer an innovative developmental elementary program that focuses on Spritual, Social and Academic growth providing small class size with low student/teacher ratios.
We have a complete academic program that includes Art, Dance, Music and Technology as well as several Advanced Placement classes for High School students accredited through St. Johns University.
We offer competitive sports programs and are the the Boys Varsity Baseball and Basketball Champions for the IPSSAL League.
We compete in both the NYSMA and SCMEA Music Programs.

Our graduates have been awarded scholarships to such prestigious Higher Education Institutions as:
Adelphi, Boston University, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell, Culinary Institute of America, Dowling, Erskine College, Fordham University, Florida A&M, Georgetown, Hofstra, Ithaca, Johnson and Wales, Kings College, Long Island University, Messiah College, New York institute of Technology, Oral Roberts University, Penn State University, Quinnipiac, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, St. Johns University, Temple University, University of Rochester and Virginia Tech to name a few!

We have Bible Devotions four days a week and a Chapel service each Friday.

We are a non-denominational multi-racial and multi-cutural educational extension of Upper Room Christian World Center and serve families from over 100 churches in the Queens, Nassau and Suffolk County Areas.
Enrollment begins for the fall semester in March and closes for the current school year in December.
